The face of a software company – Elena Konstantinova, Project Manager

Meet SoftGroup through the eyes of its visionary employees

“The face of a software company” is a storytelling series that discovers how SoftGroup works through the eyes of our colourful and visionary employees. The first story is here – learn what is <PM> and what its role is.

Hello, I am Elena Konstantinova, Project Manager <PM> in SoftGroup. I have worked for the company for almost 8 years, 5 of which as a PM. I love the company`s vision and values and the variety of customers I am working with.

Is there a typical day or week at SoftGroup?

The typical day at work is full of communication for me. There are a lot of internal meetings with colleagues and conference calls with customers. But more often, each day is different for me, and good planning is the key to following the course and staying focused.

Tell us a bit more about your role within the company…

I am responsible for delivering SoftGroup`s system and services in the best way on time to a particular group of customers. Also, to find the most appropriate solution regarding the client`s requirements.

Sometimes I have coordinating escalations follow up contract signing, and payments. Working with the pharma industry is challenging, so I have further escalations from my customers. To prevent long stops in production, I need to react fast and resolve it quickly. I am trying to make responsible decisions and manage the situation, keeping customers and the team steady.

Your job as a Project Manager requires you to manage the customers` needs. How does this happen remotely?

It is easy because the communication with customers used to be remotely most of the time. We recently added online demonstrations, validation of systems, and training for the clients. The digital signing of all documents facilitates the process.

It was strange when I started to coordinate our departments online, but I got used to it quickly. It is helpful that we have a general meeting each week for planning the following weekly tasks. Of course, we have short online meetings for a specific project or topic whenever necessary.

What initially motivated you to join SoftGroup?

I was attracted by the idea of an entirely Bulgarian fast-growing software company. When I first met our CEO, Venelin Dimitrov, during my interview, I have noticed his passion for SoftGroup’s products and services. This hinted that he is fully committed to making a successful organization and motivated me to become part of his team.

How did you find having to work from home instead of the office? Would you explore this opportunity in the future?

I can work effectively from both places, but the hybrid model works the best for me. I love the personal contact and the option to have the desk, the office space and even coffee breaks with the colleagues.

What do you think about the SoftGroup brand new office space?

I am looking forward to this change. A new place is always a refreshment for the team, and it could provoke creativity and new ideas.

Finish the sentence “You should come to work at SoftGroup because….

It would help if you came to work at SoftGroup because you will find a great work environment where business owners care about individuals. You will meet friendly people and learn a lot about the pharma industry. Since we are developing our solutions “in-house”, you have the excellent opportunity to grow together with the company.
